Connect Lighter

Lighter (Lighter Core) uses an API key tied to your Lighter account: a public key and a private key that can trade but cannot send funds to another address: Lighter only allows withdrawals to the wallet that owns the account. MyLiquidBot also needs the L1 wallet address that owns the account. The account index and API key index are discovered automatically when you save.

Requirements

The Lighter account must be created with your own wallet (not email or social login). Any account tier can connect, trade manually and run Delta Neutral. Other bots that pay a MyLiquidBot fee need Plus or Premium, because Lighter does not let Standard accounts pay integrator fees; the bot creator tells you before you create one.

Quick Connect (recommended)

In Add connection choose Lighter, keep Quick Connect selected and sign one message with the wallet of your Lighter account. MyLiquidBot creates the API key in a free slot of your main account, so your other keys keep working. No funds move and no gas is paid. The Integrator Fee approval is still a separate step. To create it yourself, choose Paste API key and follow parts 1 and 2.

Lighter Core account tier and fees

Lighter Core tierNative maker / taker feeWith MyLiquidBot
Standard0 / 0Manual trading, Delta Neutral and bots without a MyLiquidBot fee
Plus0.005% / 0.005%All bots
Premium0.004% / 0.028% base (discounts may apply)All bots

Native fees are charged by Lighter and are separate from MyLiquidBot fees. Check current exchange rates before trading. You can change tier on Lighter or from Manage → Change tier after the connection is verified; Lighter may reject a change while orders or positions are open or during a cooldown, and changing tier also affects trading outside MyLiquidBot.

Part 1 — Create the API key on Lighter

1

Open the API keys page

Connect your wallet on app.lighter.xyz and open app.lighter.xyz/apikeys.

2

Generate a new standard API key

Copy the Public Key and the Private Key. The private key is shown only once. Do not mark the key as maker-only: trading activation requires a standard (non maker-only) API key.

3

Note your wallet address

The EVM address you connected to Lighter is the L1 Wallet Address.

Part 2 — Add the connection in MyLiquidBot

Go to Account → Exchanges → Add connection, choose Lighter, confirm the wallet-created account and the tier notice, then fill in:

Field in MyLiquidBotWhat to enter
Public KeyThe API key public key (long hexadecimal text).
Lighter API Key - Private KeyThe API key private key. Never your wallet private key or seed phrase.
L1 Wallet Address (Ethereum)The 0x… wallet you use on Lighter.
Account Index / API Key IndexLeave empty: they are filled automatically when the connection is saved and verified.
Optional values (Auth Token, API URL, WebSocket URL)Leave empty unless support asks you to change them.

Press Save & verify. MyLiquidBot finds your account, matches the public key with an API key on that account and checks its permissions.

Part 3 — Activate trading (Integrator Fee)

In the activation step or in Manage → Integrator Fees approval, press Approve integrator and sign with the same L1 wallet saved in the connection. It moves no funds and does not allow withdrawals. When the panel shows Integrator approved, the connection can trade.

Part 4 — Leverage and margin mode

On Lighter, leverage and Cross/Isolated mode are stored on the exchange per market. When you create a bot or send a manual order, the leverage and trading mode you select are synced automatically. The Lighter · Leverage settings panel in Manage lets you set them in advance for a market and shows the settings saved from that screen.
